It was a chair, not a bed, and she loved her own bed. She looked at the one the idiot she’d saved was sleeping in. She wanted to crawl in there with him. Instead, she got up and left the room. There was a maid in the hall who was trying to stuff a vase into her purse. She dropped the vase on the floor in front of Lizzy as she walked out. “I’m pretty sure that’s not yours,” Lizzy said. The maid looked at the room behind Lizzy, and she let her think what she wanted. Lizzy crossed her arms over her chest and reached out and touched the woman’s mind. This wasn’t the first thing the maid had stolen from Logan, only the least expensive item in a long list of things over the past several weeks she’d been working for him. “He’ll never know if you don’t tell him.” The maid reached into her pocket and pulled out a gun. “Or maybe it would be best if you were not around to tell him what you think you saw?” Lizzy was tired and just wanted to go back to the castle. Not really.
