Desire For Three (2008) - Plot & Excerpts

REVIEW COURTESY OF FALLEN ANGEL REVIEWS:Jessica Tyler, better known as Jesse, needs to start anew. She has just been through a terrible marriage, and it doesn't help any that she is nearing her fortieth birthday. Jesse's sister convinces her to come out to Desire, Oklahoma, for a visit. She arrives to a town like no other. Desire is a place where plenty of people have settled down... the only difference is they live a lifestyle of sexual freedom. Desire is populated with men and women who embrace their inner dom or sub and ménage is just as acceptable. Jesse is amazed that her sister is living this way and finds herself becoming interested.Upon first meeting brothers, Clay and Rio, Jesse feels an odd pull of attraction to them both. Clay and Rio want Jesse for their own, and their possessiveness turns out to be just what she needs. They introduce her to a whole new world of pleasure, and Jesse seems to be fitting right in. Can Jesse give her all and make this relationship work, or will their constant attention bring everything to an abrupt end?Leah Brooke is new to me, but I must say... Desire For Three was definitely well written. She had strong, stubborn, and wonderfully sexy characters. I never knew what to expect next. Desire For Three was a book that I just couldn't quit reading. I am so glad she has written two more books in this series, because I wasn't ready to let go of the amazing little town of Desire, Oklahoma. Maybe someday I will be able to go there... too bad it is a fictional place. Leah Brooke was recommended to me by a group of friends that I trust when it comes to good books. I try not to add many new authors to my most have list since I can’t keep up with the ones that are there currently. Any author that gets added needs to be good enough to make me want more of the stories that she is writing. Ms. Brooke has certainly found a place on my list and I always look forward to each new story.I love that so many authors are coming up with these small towns that are so accepting of alternate lifestyles and that look out for each other. Desire, Oklahoma is the third of these towns that I have read about and would love to visit. Unfortunately there are very few small towns that are this broad minded and accepting, especially in the state of Oklahoma. I like Oklahoma. I have visited my in-laws there off and on over the years. It is a beautiful state but it is very conservative and is firmly in the Bible belt and that often equates to intolerance.Let’s start off with the main characters of the book. The first characters we meet are Clay and Rio Erickson. They are brothers and they are looking for a woman that will complete the family their parents had. They have each been married and each one has a son by that marriage. They weren't happy living apart and they didn't really love their wives. The men of Desire have told the Erickson brothers that they just need to be patient and the right woman would come along. They don’t realize that the right woman is going to show up much sooner than anyone thought. Clay is the most dominant of the pair. He is the one that took over when his parents were killed in an accident. Rio is more laid back and mischievous. They are very well matched and complement each other in behavior and communication skills. I liked both men from the beginning.Jessica “Jesse” Tyler has recently divorced her husband and sent her son off to college. She comes to Desire to visit her sister Natalie. Jesse has closed herself off to those around her. Her ex-husband was a lazy con man that only ever wanted Jesse for the money that she could earn. That being the case she isn't prepared for Desire and the way the men look out for all the women or the rules that keep the town operating smoothly. Jesse is way too stubborn for her own good. I am surprised that she thinks that she can handle anything when she is hurt so bad at one point in the story and almost kidnapped in another part. I am a firm believer that a woman to should understand how a car operates, check the oil, battery and air pressure in the tires. They should also know how to change a tire especially if they are in a bad place and need to get away quickly. There are, however times that a woman is no match for a man especially if she hasn't had any training in self-defense. Jesse is also so sure that what she has with Rio and Clay is going to end that she doesn't let go and fully trust them. This a good story that moves quickly and keeps the reader engaged throughout. It isn't some great mystery that will have you wondering who the bad guy is. You know from the beginning who is going to cause trouble and why. Ms. Brooke has written characters that make you want to know what their lives are about and when they might find that perfect woman, yes I know that no one is perfect I just meant the woman that would make them happy. There are lots of guys here that you want to cheer on and read the story as soon as possible. I am sure that the next story will be about Blade and Kelly, Jesse’s friend and partner. There is some spanking and toys in this story. This is a m/f/m story so there is no intimate contact between the brothers.
