It's odd how some men can get away with being controlling and it comes off sexy and others, well, they are just controlling. Giovanni pulled of the sexy control well. He took some liberties that I'm sure have cause plenty of men to get slapped or ignored. How a man managed to threaten and woo a woman at the same time, I don't know but I like me some Giovanni, he is a close second behind Dmitry.I like that Mira tried to control herself and I think the reason she could tolerate Giovanni in the beginning is because she only wanted one thing from him. Once she made that decision, it was easy to overlook a lot. To bad most woman can't keep feelings out of the mix, usually we are in to deep before we realize how attached we are and then it's hard to pull away. I’ve never really been into Mafia/gangster romances, but after reading ‘Rallenti’ in the 'Scandalous Heroes' collection and loving it, I decided to download this book – I was definitely intrigued by these fly black chicks who were involved with these Italian Mafia guys and wanted to read more about them. I bought the book in July, but since it's so long (yay!!!), I decided to wait until I could devote a lot of uninterrupted time to read it. So, last month, while on an 8-hour international flight, I decided to take the plunge. I started reading…and just couldn’t get into it. I put it down, tried to take a nap, and then gave it another shot. Nothing. Not sure what the problem was, but I just wasn’t feeling it. This past Friday evening, I wanted to read something ‘different’, and decided to give this one another shot. I was immediately drawn into the story (go figure!). I started reading, and literally could NOT put this book down! There’s not much for me to say that hasn’t already been said. I will say that I’m glad I’m late to the party on this one, because I can move on the next book without having to wait. I finished this one and immediately started reading Book 2. Thanks Kindle and Whispernet! Awesome story, Sienna Mynx!
