mari kita ngerumpiin mr sexy dangerous devil sammy aka samael.di cerita terakhir nicki styx diceritakan sammy demi mengalihkan perhatian selene dari joe & nicki rela berdekatan & merayu selene. bagi selene terlihat sammy masih memiliki perasaan padanya & lebih memilihnya dibandingkan nicki.yg tidak diketahui selene adl sammy justru memilih nicki, dengan memilih nicki maka sammy harus mengarahkan perhatian selene dari nicki.demi kebahagian nicki maka sammy harus menghadapi selene & menghindarkan nicki dari underworld.walaupun pd awalnya sammy ingin menjadikan nicki istri & miliknya tapi dia sadar kebaikan hati & sifat nicki tidak akan pernah tahan menghadapi segala kegelapan, kecurangan & kebusukan underworld.sammy tidak ingin nicki kehilangan jati dirinya, hal yang membuat sammy jatuh cinta pada nicki.sammy bahkan menemui sapa gitu namanya yg menguasai web of fate untuk mengikat sammy dengan nicki, tapi kemudian sammy mengurungkan niatnya karna mengikat nicki bukan berarti bisa mendapatkan hati nicki.di novel ini ada cerita ttg faith & finn.finn adalah penyanyi rock & roll legendaris. dulu dia pernah membuat kesepakatan dengan prince of darkness.selama finn memiliki ring of chaos maka dia akan mendapatkan segala impiannya, ketenaran kekayaan kemakmuran kesehatan, jika dia kehilangan cincin itu maka saat itu juga tiba waktunya finn menyerahkan jiwanya pada sammy.faith adl single mom yang berjuang demi putra kesayangannya yang terkena brain cancer.sammy oleh gabriel yg setelah tau sammy melepaskan nicki & joe merasa yakin dalam kegelapan hati sammy masih ada hati sengaja meminta sammy melindungi faith & nathan - putra faith.sammy setuju namun harus sesuai dengan cara sammy.cara sammy itu adalah dengan membuat kesepakatan dengan faith. sammy akan menyembuhkan nathan jika faith menyerahkan tubuhnya & mengambil ring of chaos dari finn.yg tidak disangka2 kedekatan finn & faith ternyata membuat mereka ber 2 saling jatuh cinta.cinta itulah yang membuat finn rela menyerahkan segala impiannya termasuk jiwanya demi kebahagiaan faith & nathan.sedang faith sendiri rela menyerahkan jiwanya demi nathan.duh sammy sekarang apa yang akan kamu lakukan????masa tega mengambil salah 1 jiwa antara faith or finn?????? I’m still pretty iffy on what I think about DEVIL WITHOUT A CAUSE. Ignoring the parts I wasn’t too interested in, I’d have to say the story was a good one that could have been improved on. I’ll start by saying I don’t have much background reading heaven verses hell book. The whole angel/demon things hasn’t gotten its hooks in me yet, so when I take out the parts where the pov is with the devil and the angel Gabriel, I was pretty hooked. I’m also pretty sure Garey’s other series characters where mentioned which was something I didn’t grasp as I haven’t read anything else by her. Finn Payne made his deal with the devil, aka Samael, at the tender at of 16 when he felt his life couldn’t get much worse. Stealing the Ring of Chaos, his rock band career took off. However, the ring causes madness in the long run and the devil is waiting to collect his soul upon his death. Enter Faith McFarland, single mother to a four year old son who has brain cancer. When the devil approaches her in the chapel with his offering, Faith agrees and gets a month before he comes to collect on his favor. Working the Friday night shift, Faith is told she has till Monday to get a ring off Finn Payne’s finger if she wants to save Nathan’s life. Of course the devil can’t make it that easy on her. She must get it while placing herself in Finn’s bed. Lucky for her, Finn’s concert just ended and he’s staying at the hotel. Sprucing herself up, she practically forces her company on him in his room. Finn can tell by her nervousness that she doesn’t throw herself at men very often. Although she’s not his normal type they spend dinner together and after putting out there the rules of one night only, they tumble into bed with a blaze of passion. Watching him sleep, she slides his ring off and makes a run. When he gets a hold of her, he hears a noise that makes his heart stop at what he knows she’s doing. Rushing to the roof, he finds her attempting to summon the devil, which can only be done in the in-between hours.The devil makes another appearance to Finn and makes a deal that if he can willingly get Faith to give him the ring, he’ll let him live. Now Finn’s out to save his soul.Escaping, it’s not long before his PI has him at her address. She continues to deny taking the ring. Spotting the back of Nathan’s head where it has been shaven; he knows the key is through her son. He catches her trying to summon the devil again and kidnaps them both to his private beach house. Keeping Faith calm, Finn tries to seduce the ring from her like she did to him in the hotel room, but as he spends time with both Faith and Nathan he realizes that has backfired on him. After a scare with Nathan and Finn forces the ring from Faith, he summons the devil and attempts to trade himself for her. He didn’t hear when Faith enters until she too offers herself to save her son, going on the hope Finn will keep his promise and seek treatment. The devil, looking on as these two confess their love for each other and thus offer themselves, tell them they caught him on a good day and releases them both from their bargains. The end.Wait what? I would have certainly loved to have seen an epilogue of how things turned out for Finn and Faith. There is also a side story with the devil Samael as he rules his underworld, learns of his son, and is tricked by Gabriel into helping Faith.

It took me a while for me to get into the book. ONce I did get into it I didn't want to put it down.
