What do You think about Devoured By Darkness - Selubung Kelam Masa Depan (2011)?
Unfortunately, just when I was thinking this series could be taken a little more seriously, having left the realm of Mills & Boon kitsch, I found a book in the line up, I couldn't even finish. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.Tane, the Charon, did have enormous potential as a sexy, loner vamp and Laylah, the love interest seemed initially OK, but the whole story by itself just didn't carry them well.I did try to come back to it twice, but unfortunately, it just didn't pull me back in. It just didn't capture my attention at all, so I am having to pass up on this book without finishing and hope a change of pace with a different series will be enough to clear my head. So, this one gets an unfortunate 2/10: "Managed half the book, tempted to read more, but just couldn't get there" on the NBRS.

This was my favorite Darkness book yet...there is one left to read before the wait begins for the next one. I will be in eReader transition so it may be a while before I order up. As for Devoured by Darkness, I liked the characters of Tane and Laylah a lot. Both wounded by their past and both tentative (and willing) explorers of their future together, albeit not understanding the give/take of relationship. As always, the sensual side of Ms Ive's characters burns and this was no exception. Was happy to see that the sensual was not over-played as in so many books since FSOG hit the scene but was deftly woven in as part of the journey to happiness. That being said, Tane is one hot vampire.

Why should a scary executor vampire wear shortpants?
