I just finished this book and I really liked it. I guess it would be considered a YA paranormal. It's about a teenage girl who finds out on her 16th birthday that she will become a vampeen. Her mother is a vampeen and her father is human. A vampeen is part human and part vampire. Of course there is a love interest and he helps teach her what she needs to know because her parents held off telling her until the last minute. There is some action in the book. It is actually pretty good. It is the first book in a series. I do think it is a good read. Downloaded this free book randomly... It was terrible. It was total fan fiction of the "I wanna be Twilight" variety. You cannot write what has already been written and if you are taking someone else's idea and attempting to make it your own don't keep referencing it. Also it is important as a writer to be aware of what words mean! Don't use it if you are trying to give it a meaning it doesn't own! The main character was flighty at best. Character development was shoddy. None of them were consistent. This novel was a little girl's imaginings of all the things she wishes she could have... Money, a perfect body, guys fawning over her, and being beautiful and popular. Great novels have real meaning behind their words this one was pretty much garbage.
Recommended by some students. Now when they ask me if I read it, I can say yes!
