The very beginning of this book (20 pages) is good. It sets up the scene and dilema quite well. The middle is slow and gets quite tedious. There is action in the form of dig sites and the risks involved in that activity but other than that the story is a plodder. I waited and waited for something to happen, a gasp moment but it never came. POSSIBLE SPOILER NEXT.The end of this book is well worked. I wish the author had given more of an insight to what exo's really thought - Jarra really stresses over it (could have made more of this) but it all turns out to be a fuss over nothing. She has a preconception, she's wrong. The end. You're left wondering what the book is actually about. I am sorry, but is there something i'm not getting? Does my book miss some pages? Because i thought that this was about a Handicapped girl living among some exos and getting over her hate for them. What happened to Jarra? She was a civilian a great deal of the book. But now she's all like "all my years living on military bases, but the minute i moved to civilian territory it all went haywire." I don't get it. Is JMK like an alter ego? Because she changed in like two pages to a totally different person. Is it just me?It just sounds like the author changed at the middle of the book. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I just really want an answer.
