Die Rache Der Jägerin: Roman (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
I started this book 2 days ago...I am on page 80...I can't finish it. It pains me to say so. I enjoyed the first one so I had expectations of this one being good, but it was a let down. I read an earlier review about how Evy being only 22 and having the "experience" of an older adult. I find this to be true. She's way more mature and level headed as someone of her age. It's hard to relate to her. So if you are in love with the first one, I'd say give it a shot. If you were on the fence of liking it or not liking it...I'd say just leave it alone. As Lie the Dead was just as exciting and action packed as the previous book in this series Three Days to Dead. Meding does a great job at picking up the action where the other book left off and setting up another adventure for Evy. The character development of Evy is well done as Evy becomes better able to deal with her new life in a new body and by coming to terms with her past. Meding uses well placed flashbacks to show Evy's journey as a new recruit to the events leading up to her death. It was nice to see Wyatt return along with some great new characters, Phin and Aurora, to add to the overall story. Overall this was a great read, and I would definitely recommend it although I would suggest reading Three Days to Dead first to get a better picture. I am looking forward to reading Evy's next adventure.
