A true page-turner, Disruption captivated me from the start. In a technologically advanced future wearing a Mercer Corporation’s M-Band is compulsory. In this world where control over something as basic as finding your perfect romantic match is the status quo, Maggie tries to find her father who vanished two years before. She is certainly not above ruthlessly using this technology to achieve her goal.Just when I thought that I had had enough of young adult fiction for this year, as well as the futuristic theme, this book comes along and proves me wrong. I loved that although the plot moves along at a healthy pace, all the secrets of this futuristic existence are not revealed in the beginning. Though not dystopian on the surface, once you delve deeper into the story, it becomes obvious that, yes, dystopian is really the right description for this book.I absolutely loved all the characters. Maggie Stevens, the main character, is the sort of tough, butt-kicking heroine that I love. She is absolutely ruthless when it comes to finding her father. Yet, under that hard exterior lurks a girl who yearns for deep, enduring love.I prepared myself not to like rich boy, Quentin Mercer. Wow, was I wrong! Once circumstances and Maggie strip him of his flirty, rich boy veneer, Quentin is a passionate, loyal young man with a depth of character rarely seen in guys his age.Although I generally balk at romance in the books I read, the romance in Disruption is tender and absolutely poignant. Filled with nail-biting suspense, nonstop action, highly inventive world building, Disruption, with its wonderful cliff-hanger ending, is an absolute must-read. I will most certainly be keeping an eye out for the next book in this series. (Ellen Fritz) HOLY SHIT!IF YOURE READING THIS REVIEW RIGHT NOW, STOP, AND GO READ DISRUPTION BECAUSE OH. MY. GOD. So long, so long I've been in this reading slump. When my friend ran up to me and demanded I read this 'amazing' book- one we describe as 'one in a million, a book that defines a genre, a book that has everything'- I was sceptical. But, after reading only the first page, I was hooked. action packed from the first page. A new, fresh dystopian society. An unforgiving heroine. Likeable, no loveable side characters. An amazingly dreamy love interest. A painful, heart breaking, twisted and gut wrenching story line that will leave your chest aching, your pulse speeding and your palms sweating. An amazing start to a series. 100% 5 stars, and any other amazing rating it could be awarded.
