Distant Waves A Novel Of The Titanic (2009) - Plot & Excerpts
I think this book was very good and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. It had a very good ending but the beginning was not all that great, the title of the book and other things are misleading because it makes you think that the book takes place on the Titanic or the majority of the story is on the Titanic but that is wrong, its not until many, many chapters into the book that they even began to mention the Titanic. The beginning of the book starts out slow and its not until towards the end when they actually get on the Titanic that the book starts to speed up. But overall I like the book and I enjoyed reading it and I would probably recommend it. this book was slightly disapointing to me. First the title is very misleading it says 'a novel of the titanic' but it doesnt even talk about the titanic until the end, there were too many random unecessary characters such as Molly Brown, Harry Houdini, Queen Victoria and so on, and Jane says too many mature things a regular 16 year old wouldnt. Some good things about the book was that it was very interesting and very descriptive and i would reccomend this book to people who have an interest in titanic and history combined
