Oh man where to start. Dmitry is a badarse. Like a SERIOUS badarse! I loved this book only because of Dmitry, I can honestly say I did not care for Royal. It wasn't that she was a bad person, just she just did not stick out to me, or make a memorable moment in this novel for me to like her. I loved how Ms. Nelson put together an interracial couple and made it work without throwing in all those stereotypes that others have. Dmitry (DM) didn't care that Royal was black, in fact it was never an issue. I LOVED that. Nothing was forced or taken out of proportion. Im going to guess you read the summary so now Im just gonna go into what I liked and disliked about the books. There will be no GIFs to show my feels for they ANNOY the heck out of me. So lets get started. Bad/ Didn't sit well: Royal- Nelson tried to make her seem different from all the other girls that DM dated but in the end she still came off as kind of gold -diggerish. Not to mention her character wasnt as well developed as DM, and her personality was just eh. Love scenes- luke warm, not that this is a bad thing but it could have been hotter. Unexplained events/things left unsaid- There was a lot of things left unsaid and unexplained in this book when it came to Royal and DM. But with DM it was understandable, Royal however, not so much. What i loved: DM! - Oh man loved how this lady made a bad arse. With Royal he was a kind, loving lover but behind the scenes baby was a cold blooded killer! Loved how Nelson developed his character and made him seem like a real gangster! I mean come on, how many books have you read wishing the bad guy had more balls?! If you read Lassiter by K. Cole then one would think these two were best friends! Sorry I just get excited talking about the guy. He isn't a wussy, and thats I love. He can dish it and receive it, baby is an OG on the real. Storyline- So if your looking for a book filled with hot sexy sex scenes and a little bit of story, move around. This book is full of story and a decent sex scene. I think its like two in the book total buy the storyline makes it worth it. I LOVE a good story, and this had plots and twists that had me racing to finish it. Humor- Not many books make me laugh, but oh man I was laughing. Ivan was hilarious, and he wasnt even trying to be, that's the best part dude! Ivan- as humorous as he was to me, Ivan was also a dick. Seriously but he made the story interesting and added that twist i was taking about. The ending- I was kind of like WTF?! but still a good happy ending. All in all a good read, worth the time. It all starts with a young woman named Royal, looking for employment. She ends up in the Mother Russia, a restaurant owned by a seven foot tall Russia named Dmitry Medlov. From the 1st time he sees Royal, Dmitry is taken and decides to give this beautiful woman a job as the manager of his High end Boutique Dmitry’s Closet. Soon their relationship develops into more than just professional. Dimity finds himself falling for the innocent beauty and that could be dangerous. He is a man with secrets and dangerous affiliations. His new love has Dmitry thinking of breaking his #1 rule and giving up his empire, but when his brother Ivan shows up in Memphis; seeking revenge Royal quickly learns there is more to her billionaire Beau than meets the eye, that he is more than just sexy he can also be deadly. I have mixed feels about this book. The story was great. I love the Russian mafia aspect as well as the plot. When it comes to the love affair of Dmitry and Royal, I was expecting fireworks and I got them, the sex scenes where explosive. As far as the main characters, Dmitry was everything you would expect in a mob boss, a true alpha male who took no prisoners loved him, but Royal was not one of my favorites. I know she was to be a damsel in distress kind of character, but it just seems like she was a plain fool in this book. She never knew he was a mob boss? There were times I just wanted to shake her and say do you see what’s in front of you. That is what I could not get into with this book .Maybe, if she could have had a little more back bone. Vulnerable and innocent doesn’t necessarily equal blind. I just feel like if Royal was a little stronger this would have been a much better book.
