****4 Stars****Joci James is a single mother and independent woman who has lived with enough heartbreak to not want to get involved with another man. Her son, Gunnar, has asked her to put her graphic design and marketing skills to use and help him promote an annual veteran's ride that the motorcycle shop that he works for, puts on every year. She is more than happy to help.Jeremiah "Dog" Sheppard is a single father, veteran and owner of Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Shop. Being a veteran,he wants to give back, so he puts on a Veteran's Ride every year with all proceeds going to local veterans. Gunnar has told him about his mother but he isn't expecting the beautiful woman that walks into his shop. They both are immediately attracted to each other but Joci has no desire to be hurt again. She has turned down every offer that Dog has put out there with a simple, "I can't". Dog is on a mission to prove himself loyal and worthy of a chance to be with Joci. Will she be able to let go of the past and love freely? Will Dog prove that he wants her and only her? This is a wonderful story about mature adults finding unexpected love. I love the fact that Dog works to build trust and an actual relationship before going in for he kill! ;) This isn't what I would call a traditional MC themed book but it definitely has a biker theme. This story has drama, suspense and steamy sex scenes that keep you turning the page wanting more. Can't wait to see if there will be more boys to follow about their sons finding love! I totally enjoyed this read, I found it to be sweet and loving story. However if you do not like the word F*** or F***** this isn’t the book for you, this word is used A LOT. I thought the author had a wonderful plot about an older couple who were finding their way to love again and the crazy witch (that is the nicest name I can give her) that didn’t want that to happen. Her jealousy almost keeping them apart, there are many things they will have to work out to become one if they can. Joci who has major trust issue since her last two relationships with men didn’t go so well. Neither of them was true to her and one even had sex with all of her friends, which she didn’t know about until the end. I did expect Joci to be more of a stronger women, I felt she was a little on the wimpy side. She was a sweet heart that you come to love her. Dog is a hot big mess, he is alpha he knows what he wants and is willing to wait it out to get it. When he has had enough he takes matters into his own hands not taking NO for an answer. He is alpha no doubt about that, one strong man who has patients which I loved. I do not think alpha males have to lose their tempters to be alpha or throw their weight around, in my eyes he was damn near perfect. The few parts I loved in this book were the vine tattoo that Joci had and the meaning behind each addition to it. That is a tat I would love to see in real life. The other was when he was thanking everyone for their part in bringing the ride together when he thanks Joci and said “Thanks Babe". Which took everyone by storm, you wouldn’t expect a bad biker dude to say this much less in public. That was totally awesome and he stole my heart. There are many other parts in this book that I totally adored but those are the two that stand out the most. The chemistry between these two is undeniable, the passion is incredible and the family bond is like outstanding. Family means so much and to see it in this book makes it a good read. You have the employee (I can’t remember her name) that did her best to break them up. I know he kept her on because he felt he owed her brother but after she pulled the things she did in front of him trying to break them up she should have been gone. It does add to the story but for me that was a little over the top. She was one mean and hateful lady. If she had done those things behind his back I could understand him keeping her but right in front of his face was to much.I did feel the book was a little long and repeats things a little too much. If I read it once I don’t need to keep reading it. But for the all over it was well worth the read. I really did enjoy this book and highly recommend it. Watching them fall in love and overcoming so many things was a pleasure.
What do You think about Dog Days Of Summer (2014)?
It is actually a nice book...just needs more readers, reviewers and maybe some minor edits~~
