I liked this book! It's probably closer to a 3.5 but that's really only because of the last couple chapters. I really liked the end of the book. At the beginning I thought I was seeing some cliches but the writing really reveals things nicely. Like you get revealed more about the place that she moved to, and the students in her school, and even the main character Delaney. It really is a nice feel-good fluffy contemporary with magic realism. I even cried. I definitely wouldn't mind reading it again either. After her mother dies, Delaney is sent cross-country to live with the distant life coach father she has resented for years. As she adjusts, she discovered her secret heritage--she is a fairy godmother, like her father, and her purpose is to grant wishes.In many ways, this a typical teenage "growth" story, with Delaney transforming from a sullen, detached teenager to someone who discovers a purpose and connection. The fairy godmother aspect is unique among the many paranormal teen books around these days, although it seems pretty limitless. Delaney never hits a limit with what she can do and seems to never run out of power. I did think that a lot of her relationship with her father was fixed off-screen, in the shadow of her learning to harness her powers, and I wish that had been a little more clear.
