3.5 stars. This was an entertaining read and I liked Melina for the most part aside from her completely asinine decision to try to take on the bad guy alone which irritated the heck out of me, especially as she had a vampire, witch & werewolf prepared to help. I can understand her not wanting humans Ted & Norah involved but to not use her supernatural allies was just ridiculous. My other 2 ( minor) grips are:1. Why can't she charge for her Messenger services? I get that she has a supernatural "obligation" to run messages but see no reason why this should be free.2. Mae - her supposedly wonderful mentor who gets irritated with Melina refusing to take any responsibility yet she refuses to give Melina information about her role or why or how to deal with the problem when Melina asks for advice. How is Melina supposed to know what to do if no-one ever tells her?? This was a great read! I like the heroine and hope -seeing that this is the start of a series- that she stays true to herself and her character (not like ,let's say, Anita Blake who started out as one of my favourites and deteriorated in book 8 or so). There is a new kind of vampire in this book...post it notes, too funny!!!-you'll understand when you read the book-!Melina has interesting contacts and unlikely friends most of it because she can sense supernaturals.Attraction between Melina and some of the male characters add a nice sparkle while being clean enough to make it comfortable for me to let my 15 year old read this. The writing style is quite humorous and makes this a great vacation read! Two thumbs up!
What do You think about Don't Kill The Messenger (2010)?
A very fun paranormal romance. Kept my interest. I liked the sassy attitude of the main character.
