Light and supremely funny with a little heart thrown in the mix. Perfect summer read. Warning: crude language and jokes ahead! I recommend reading the 2 books and 1 short story that come before this one. The characters and story build on each other into a richer reading experience. Ace Jones has hit rock bottom and heads home to Bugtussle for some much needed introspection which of course leads to hilarity and hijinks with old friends and new enemies. I picked this one up just because of its title. I mean Bugtussle sounds so fun, you know. The story is about a woman who returns to her hometown to recoup after her dreams come true and she finds them a bit of a let down. She takes a job working as a sub at the school where she used to be a full time teacher. She starts out really hating it and then makes some new friends and new discoveries about herself. I found this book to be a good read but it was a big slow here and there. I know this isn't action adventure, but sometimes I just need more than reading about walking the dog. If you grew up in the eighties and are looking back at them with nostalgia, this book will give you a smile. So all and all, it was a good book and there were parts where I laughed out loud at some of the antics these women get up to in it. Ya'll will enjoy it!
