I couldn't even finish the first installment in this series after several attempts. I LOVE the author (G.A. Aiken) when she writes as (S. Laurenston), her PRIDE series is one of the best out there, so I just knew I would love her DRAGON KIN series. As I stated the first book was a DNF...Boring. I picked this book off of a recommend list and was half way through the book when I realized it was part of that series. I...was...shocked. I LOVE this book!!! I was laughing all the way & the romance/erotic scenes were on point...a perfect balance. I still can't believe this is part of the same series. I'm writing this while reading book #4 in the series, and still loving it. I NEVER...EVER...read a series out of order. This is a first. I don't know what happened with that first book, but the rest of the series has been on point. Not as fun as the first novel. Oh, don't get me wrong, there are hilarious scenes here. Talaith's rescue is great, as is Briec's inability to understand why Talaith isn't immediately grateful when she learns she is now his personal property. His lack of understanding of human women is annoying, sweet and fun. Unfortunately I didn't find their bickering as sexually fulfilling as they did.Briec, well, he's just... upstaged by his two adorable brothers; Gwenvael and Eibhear. Right from the get go, I knew Gwenvael was my drug, eh, dragon of choice. And this book just confirmed that feeling. As for Eibhear; what an adorable 90 year old baby brother. I'm developing a real soft spot for him. So yeah, good book, but the constant fighting wasn't what saved this four star rating, it was a certain horny, golden dragon, and his sweet, adorable and considerate blue haired brother. Because, let me tell you, their interactions with each other and with Talaith (as well as the demonspawn's unholy attraction to a certain dragon) were the highlights of this book.
What do You think about Dragon Dream (2010)?
The first book I finished in 2014 and I really loved it. A good start for the new year!
