This book is a bit deceptive; it begins as a rather slow quiet adventure and romance, and by the end of it, quite a lot has happened! Ingram is young, though he is mature and when promised to a Lord in marriage, he is hesitant but feels it’s a way to redeem himself in his father’s eyes since the king only sees him as a coward. Lord Mallory is patient and gentle and when he’s granted what he wants he bides his time wooing his husband. I loved the pacing; it felt right for this story, allowing us to get to know the characters before they all jump into bed with one another as so many other stories do. A few twists at the end, one I anticipated and one I did not made for a great enticement to read the next installment.(Although i hope she stops using the word sumptuous, it seems to be a favorite of hers). I can’t wait for more of the series! this book is adorable i can't wait for the next one! Ingram the prince of this wonderful land sees himself as a coward and weak because he is not as skilled on the battle field but a thinker of strategies. His father does not love him and all Ingram wants is to make his father proud. He is forced to marry Lord Mallory who falls in love with Ingram and Ingram grows into a stronger person because of this. He finds the loyalty and love that he's been looking for, Mallory is possessive and protective all traits found in a dragon. I love dragons that are just so perfect in their nature towards their lovers. Mallory gives Ingram everything that he has been craving for like love and affection Mallory makes Ingram feel loved and important where his father taught him that their was nothing special about him. Cant wait for the sequel I need it soon :/
