When she awoke, the drapes to her bedroom were still drawn closed and the emerging sign of day glowed through them, illuminating the room with a soft, diffused light. The clock was behind her on the dresser and she could not turn to see what time it was, but she guessed it was about 7:30 or so.She had been startled for a moment on her awakening by the fact of her bound hands and legs, but when she saw the sleeping form of the man before her, it had all come back to her. She immediately felt a deep, almost painful longing for him. He was lying on his stomach, his powerful arm crooked under the pillow, his face turned away from hers. His long, jet black hair lay across his broad back. The quilt that covered them both reached just up to a few inches from his shoulders and she could see the form of his tall, heavy body underneath it. “What a pleasing picture we make,” Kelly thought, ironically. “A scene of domestic bliss.” For although she was helplessly bound, her body too was concealed under the covers and all an observer would see was a man and woman in bed, the man sleeping, the woman lovingly casting her eyes on his form.Something had happened to her in the night, she felt.
