I really liked this book! I am a big fan of books in this genre, I love the idea of kids getting into these big adventures...this one was not disappointing! Pirates and treasure and true love- sigh. The only thing I will warn you about is there is quite a bit of violence contained in these pages, but I DID say there were pirates, right? Pirates are to violence what peanut butter is to jelly, if you ask me. Prepare yourself for a fun, satisfying read. I can't wait to read the second and third in the series! 3.5 starsEntertaining adventure, good pace, interesting characters, and a likeable protagonist. Lots of action and humor, with pirates and battles and a possible hidden treasure. Definitely an enjoyable read, but not as captivating as some others books I've read lately. One specific thing that threw me about this book was how serious Egg was about his feelings for Millicent. They just seemed more maturely formed than I was expecting for a character of his age. But a minor disturbance in an otherwise fun book.
