It took him all of two minutes to come back in with my overnight bag and the presents I had left at Elliot’s. “Who brought them?” “Angel,” he said, as he closed the door, putting the bag on the floor by my computer desk and placing the pile of presents down on my chair. Then he walked back over to me, kneeling again. “How’re you feelin’?” I shrugged. “Besides the fact that I had to take those horse pills, I’m feeling much better.”
