A fantastic read! I was sucked in from the start! I love the how the world building seemed so flawless as we were first introduced to Saskia. Marta made the transition seem so realistic and the relationship between Marta and her daughter Sarajane was so real. The book progressed at a fast pace. The characters were well rounded, although I would have like to have seen the traitor's character developed a bit more so that I could hate him a bit more. The relationship between Sarajane and Tristin almost came out of nowhere but I knew that these two characters would 'connect' shall we say. And can I just say? Tristin was all male, tall, dark, and subtly alpha. Really loved him. All in all, a wonderful read. I'm looking forward to reading book 2! This story follows the adventures of Sarajane Anderson who, at first blush, seems to be an ordinary young Irish woman. Her mother has gone missing leaving here with her father and young sister, Jessica. Except, all is not as it seems. Sarajane's mother is actually a child of the world of Saskia. Sarajane is actually the product of an illicit relation ship between the King and her mother. The Queen is hunting Sarajane. She has kidnapped her mother. The King moves to reclaim his daughter. Sarajane is pulled into a world of political maneuvers and power plays. Plus she has her own special powers, if she can learn to use them.Aoife Marie Sheridan has spun a fascinating tale of alternate world and magic. There are a few grammatically misplaced words, but most are easily over looked as the reader is drawn into the tale. I will certain be looking into the sequel.
