It's always good to find a book about libraries that presents them in a positive light. Even more exciting is to find a librarian who is pleasant, and who entices the recalcitrant bear into checking out Just The Right Book!Adorable cartoon-like figures of Bear and his friend Mouse - who drags Bear to the library much against his will. After all, the seven books that Bear has in his house are enough for just about anybody, right? Bear loves his seven books and doesn't need to expand his horizons at all. Kings and queens and pickles, who needs more? It isn't until mouse gets him to appreciate the library that he discovers there are other things to read about that are completely amazing. Rocketships and tea and of course, more pickles! This one's adorable. There's a charm to this series that reminds me of the picturebooks from when I was little -- and it makes me smile to find it again here. Now I just need to find the bra that the librarian has in the illustrations 'cause maaaan does it do magic.
I liked her A Visitor for Bear, so I tried this one and really didn't like it.
