Een Liefdesverhaal Met Mijn Dode Beste Vriendin In De Hoofdrol (2000) - Plot & Excerpts
So much about this story appealed to me! I loved the exploration of death and what it means, and I loved an exploration of homosexuality that wasn't strictly about sexuality. It's about relationships. This whole book is about relationships. There were also some FANTASTIC lines, and a whole two pages about suicide that I found really powerful. (I'll record them here the next time I'm back at the library, since that's where this book is now.)Overall, a moving story with great characters. When I first picked out the book, I expected it to completely different, though that was my fault I didn't read read the inside cover description fully. I basically thought that it would be Cass riding her bike to California, getting through Julia's death and dealing with the changes that was going to come so when I started reading, I was slightly confused. But besides that, the book was alright, it took me a long time to read because it never suck me in, I would read a few pages, maybe a chapter before stopping. I felt like the characters needed more backstory and a lot of the events felt unbelievable.
What do You think about Een Liefdesverhaal Met Mijn Dode Beste Vriendin In De Hoofdrol (2000)?
Yet more gay YA, and not bad. I wasn't totally comfortable with the relationship age gap stuff.

It was hard to follow at first but soon I was drawn into "both" of the stories and just.. ach!
