Egipatska čarobnica (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

I would like to state that I love historical novels and do not mind sex scenes at all but I just don’t know what to say I could not finish this book.it was exhausting. I read about 250 pages and decided to throw in the towel, which I never do. I truly wanted to slap Selene she was so selfish and childish. I kept thinking when will this turn out ok. Why can’t she just be happy with Juba. I admire that Selene was so determined to be a Queen of Egypt and refused to bend to the rules of men but she was not thinking with her brain. I refuse to believe this is what really happened. It just does not feel right, granted we will never know the truth but this is just not it, not even close. Continuing the story of Selene from Lily of the Nile, the author takes you on an interesting journey filled with surprises. I admit that I was a little worried in a couple of uncomfortable parts where things were going, but always found myself hooked enough to see it through and glad I did. The novel resolves itself very cleverly and skillfully at the end, yet leaves Selene at yet another new beginning. I can't wait to see where "Daughter" of the Nile" takes her (and me!).I do wish the cover was a little different only that it looks like a romance novel, but the book really centers around Selene's sense of legacy, obligation and her political scheming to insure both while struggling with her own sense of self.
