Narrated in part by an eleven year old boy and in part by the author, who comes across as around 15 years old!. The story is somewhat silly with a stumbling emphisis on helping each other in a crisis. Based on events in Montreal in the first weeks of 1998, the story involves neighbours who hardly talk to each other untill events force them to suddenly become very friendly! I say the author narrates like a 15 year old as he has a fasination with breasts (like an adolescent male child)and has a childish way of telling the story. Oh Well! I suppose at only 246 pages it wasn't that much of an embarrassment. I picked this one up for the title and wasn't disappointed. Not earth-shatteringly amazing but a very enjoyable read with a collection of interesting characters that you actually care about. It does give you pause for thought - how little we know some of our neighbours in our busy modern lives. A classic tale of people coming together through adversity and how sometimes we need to step off the treadmill before we can see what is right in front of us.
Novelita cómoda, fácil de leer, entretenida y optimista. No marcará escuela, pero es agradable.

I couldn't even finish this. To me it was pretty pointless. Disappointing!
