El Metodo Gabriel: Transforma Tu Cuerpo Sin Hacer Dieta (2010) - Plot & Excerpts
This is the exact same hokum available for free on the internet and smeared across every weight loss tome since the beginning of time. The first half is a sales pitch. It's not your fault, it's not that hard. One simple trick. By the time he eventually gets to any sort of guidance you find out that not only is this actually a diet plan, but it's a diet plan based on insane or severely dated pseudo-science like the evils of pasteurization, sun-eating, 'the secret', and life-forces/vitality only available in raw food veganism. He relabels the hypnosis fad of the early seventies as SMART mode and then tries to sell you hundreds of dollars in audio CDs to self-hypnotize. You don't deny yourself your cravings, but you are supposed hypnotize away your desire for sugar and other 'dead' foods by mentally wrapping 'power phrases' around your spine like 'I am a skinny 20 year old'. Close your eyes, tell yourself I am 20$ richer, then don't buy this crap. It might actually come true. The Gabriel Method really struck a chord with me. I love how Jon Gabriel incorporates a MIND & BODY approach to achieving your ideal weight. I think this is what was missing in my own journey to health. I also really love how he explains the science behind why our body would want to be fat. I absolutely love his visualizations and have been practicing them for a week. I don't agree with all of his ideas, but love many of them and was inspired by his story of losing over 220 lbs!
