4.5 stars! My first novel-in-verse, and I enjoyed it immensely. The flow and pacing are wonderfully smooth, and though the storyline weaves back and forth between the past and the present, I didn't have a hard time following it. This is actually more angsty than the cover portrays (when I got it, I thought it would be kinda light and maybe funny? But it's not. Still, it was an excellent read, and besides, who doesn't like poetry?) I bought this book for two reasons. One, because I loved Elana's other books and two, because it was on sale for 99 cents. I have never read a book in verse, and I didn't really want to. But I couldn't pass it up, and let me tell you, I'm glad I didn't. I don't know what I was expecting but this book wasn't it. I loved the story, I loved the simplicity. It was such a quick, easy read. The story was told with simplicity but wasn't a simple story. I found myself wanting to hurry and find out what happened, in the past, what will happen in the future. Please, don't be put off by the "in verse" part. This book was great.
What do You think about Elevated (2000)?
I need to read more novels in verse! Seriously though!Full review coming soon!

Quite well written, except I had a bit of a problem with the story line.
