Hard to give it a star rating. A good self-help book with a bit of new age-y edge to it. She is an energy psychiatrist, so there's that. I found her advice and "emotional action steps" to be helpful and offers good guidance for those who need help navigating difficult relationships. It is good when you want to change your reaction to someone who you know will NOT change. Recommended for those seeking a bit of guidance dealing with "emotional vampires" who can suck the energy out of you. I would not read this book the way I read other books that are written by writers who can write as the book is poorly written and much of it is absolutely irrelevant. Instead, skim, try the suggested meditation techniques, and return the book to the library. I find the publication of a lot of self-___________ books are good for people who like to have a steady stream of positive words to read. For that, I'm grateful for half empty books like these because they are excellent reminders to keep yourself in a positive place. Ignore the terrible writing and the shit you don't care about.
I just started this based on a recommendation of a friend - she's reading it for the 2nd time.

I love the simple straightforward way she writes, with humor and science. Love this one.
