Wow. I haven't lost myself in a book like that in months. I loved the twist and the ending. I'm very happy that I have Emotionally Scarred to go read now, and cannot wait for the next one. I love how wonderfully Selina writes, how she sinks you in, makes you feel things. Her ability to cause a range of emotions in her work is incredible. I laugh, I get angry, I cry. I connect with and care about the characters. They are flawed and human. Livvy's imperfections make me like her, her mistakes make me adore her. Dean stole my heart instantly, I've gotta say. All the characters have such personality, even the most minor. My only real concern while reading was a little worry about the way Livvy seemed to be having a Bella-esque obsession with Jake, but I love the way it turned out. I wouldn't change anything, except to have more of it! Selina is absolutely one of the TOP biggest inspirations to me and someone I look up to and hope to be like, in my own way. And she undoubtedly earns that spot. Selina's writing far surpasses what is sold in bookstores or whatever "fad" is going around these days. Selina Fenech has every bit of talent and more, and deserves to be a household name. I would praise her and recommend her work to anyone and everyone. This book wasn't terrible. The main character wasn't particularly interesting. She was just a completely boring person, who was the sum of her actions and really nothing else. There is also the fact that the blurb and the beginning of the book make it seem like this is a superhero book. Like some alternate Universe where there were superheroes. But after like the first page, heroes become purely metaphorical. as in "Heroes are good people who help others, even if they have no powers".Other than that, the book was quite well written, with a (pretty) engaging plot, and at least one likable character (Which was Dean, my favorite)
What do You think about Emotionally Charged (2011)?
This book seemed like it would be an enjoyable movie. Fun read :)
