Enjoy Your Stay (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

1.5 stars but I rounded up because I'm about to bitch hard about this book and I thought I'd at least give it one small break. First let me say that there was one thing I liked about this book, the scenes with Ana and Elijah. And that was literally the only thing I liked. Everything else pissed me the fuck off. I actually waited a whole day to write this because I thought I would chill a bit and be able to write a calmer review. Yeah..nope sorry, still mad. I feel like anyone who read the first book and then read this one, I'm sorry you had to go through that. We went from a good first book to this disaster. We get a look at Jackson and Holly's relationship in the first book and it really looked like it was going to be awesome. They had a shit ton of chemistry and great banter, so I was super excited to read this. But even though the author had great characters and a good plot to work with she just didn't follow through. This was a hot mess. Lets start with Holly and Jackson's messed up relationship. They had way more angst then fucking necessary. I understand that angst is added to books to spice up the story but there is a time where it is just overloaded. For some reason these two admitted to themselves they loved each and then proceeded to do everything in their power to hurt the other one because they are immature assholes. And I actually don't believe they love each at all, not with the way they treated each other. Yeah sometimes when you realize that you love someone you get scared and do dumb shit, but to purposely hurt someone you claim to love? Yeah that isn't love. Which brings me to my next complaint. It could be considered a spoiler but I'm not hiding it because people should get some warning about it. I wish I had had some because I wouldn't have touched this book with a 10 foot pole if I had known. This book has tons of fucking cheating. Like tons. And anyone who wants to comment on this review and say it wasn't "technically" cheating. Stop, just stop because you are wrong and I don't really want to hear it. Cheating is a big hard limit for me and I can't stand it. These two people have admitted to themselves that they love each other, they've even told each other they have feelings, and yet they sleep with other people left and right. The scene with Jackson purposely fucking that chick in the living room so Holly would see was an especial piss off. And while Holly was pissed about Jackson fucking other women, she has Cooper on the side who she is sleeping with, so she was basically a big fat hypocrite. And even though Jackson was a complete man-whore, he for some reason thought he had the right to continuously call Holly a slut and whore. But you know, it was okay since he "loved her" And finally we have the ending, which wasn't much of an ending at all. Nothing was really resolved for you as the reader. You are left with no real clear idea where they are with their relationship. I mean the author put in an epilogue and then didn't even utilize it at all. She could have wrapped it up so much better so that at least the reader isn't left without a clear HEA. That would have helped the book so much. I really hate writing bad reviews, and I think this is probably the harshest I've written yet, but truthfully I felt like this book was a waste of my time and I'm pretty pissed at that. The next book in the series is about Ana and Elijah again so I might read it, but I'm now very wary of anything this author writes and it might take me a while to be able to dive into another one of her books. 5 fan-flippin-tastic stars! Woohoo! Time to take a trip back to Sugartown! After reading Carmen Jenner's debut novel, Welcome to Sugartown, I was blown away! I'm a book whore, so of course I couldn't wait to read book two in the series. Enjoy Your Stay was everything I was expecting it to be, plus more! Hols and Jackarse (their pet names for each other) were so good together, I loved them as a pair. But with Holly being pregnant with another man's baby how will they get their relationship to work? Especially when the baby daddy arrives back on the scene ready to be a part of their lives. This fun and extremely sexy romantic comedy will leave you in stitches. I was literally snorting out loud while reading this book. But as fun and steamy it is, it has a great story line and a whole lotta heartbreaking moments too. Carmen hit it out of the park, again!~ Erin, 5 starsWhere do I begin with my review for Enjoy your Stay by Carmen Jenner....how about OH..MY..GOD!! I loved the first book and to be honest, after reading some of the reviews I was a little hesitant to start this one. A lot of people mentioned that this book made them laugh their ass off. I have a hard time believing that a book can be a funny and sexy at the same time. But, since I loved Welcome to Sugartown so much I thought what the heck. This is where the oh my god comes in. This book was amazing! I will never turn away a book that claims to be funny and sexy again.Enjoy your Stay was absolutely - without a doubt - hands down - no questions asked, one of the sexiest AND funniest books I have ever read! Not too often do you get a book that lets you experience so many emotions. I laughed (a lot), I cried, I gasped, I got mad, I said WTF, and my husband thanks you for my last emotion which I won't mention. I honestly thought 'no way can a book be laugh my ass off funny and erotically sexy at the same time.' I am here to say Carmen Jenner.... you freakin' nailed it!! My only complaint is that I DID NOT WANT IT TO BE OVER!!!I give this book a raging 5 stars....no doubt more if I could! I will be anxiously waiting the next book in this series!~ Stacey, 5 starsHere's what I didn't like about Enjoy Your Stay: It ended. WTF is with that? Here I was happily reading along, getting involved, making imaginary friends and then...it's over?!? Not abruptly, mind you. The word "epilogue" was a hint that the end was nigh but still... I was enjoying it and now I have to wait for the third Sugartown book to come out. I'm not okay with, except that I am because I want to read more. More about Elijah and Ana (sigh) from book one and definitely more about the hilarious Holly and Jackarse from this book. And more about Coop too, because the boy tugged at my heart strings a little. Alright. He tugged at my heart strings a lot.Holly Harris is pregnant and not exactly thrilled about it. Her baby's father is off being a rock star and she's stuck in Sugartown. She can't get drunk. There's demon seed inside her, making her sick and fat. She's not ready to be a Mum. And she can't keep her eyes (and her hands) off her roommate and former f*ck buddy, Jackson Rowe. He's hot as hell, drives her insane and they have definite chemistry but there's a problem. He's not the father of her baby and he's not comfortable with that. Jackson and Holly have history - the good, sexy kind - and when he returned to Sugartown to find Holly up the duff, he didn't know how to deal. Now he's falling for her and he has to figure out if he can get over it, before it's too late. There was so much to love about Enjoy Your Stay. It's hilarious in places. I actually cried with laughter over a rabid wombat. There's Aussie slang and descriptions of wildlife and the bush that made me happy (and a little homesick), and a brief mention of Tim Tams that made me hungry for my favourite biscuit. The interactions between Hols and Jackarse were both funny and heartfelt and more than a little frustrating. I wanted them together so badly, I physically ached. I even loved the angst. Oh Lord, I can't even think about Snickers without getting a little emotional. (Read the book and that sentence will make much more sense.) Carmen Jenner even added in some awesome moments with Elijah and Ana that had me grinning, chuckling, cackling and happy sighing. This book has shot to the top of my list of favourite books, even if it did have to end - which it shouldn't have because there is more to say and things I need to know... So now I'm waiting for the next book. Dammit, I'm still bitter about that. This is the second book in the Sugartown series. There's no cliffhanger, but there are some unanswered questions. It's totally worth it though!~ Beth, 5 stars

What do You think about Enjoy Your Stay (2014)?

This series floored me. I just randomly chose to find a MC type of book and I seen that this had somewhat a feel to a MC dark romance with some Aussie TLC."One of these days, I'm going to kill Jackson Rowe. I sit and watch the cereal roll around in his mouth, and it dawns on me that he reminds me of a camel: big, stupid, but sort of fun to ride."This is Holly and Jackson's story with a bit of a love triangle, raging pregnancy hormones with lots of sex. I wanted to strangle both characters and just tell them to pay attention to what is in front of them & chillax but we have to have the angst, bitterness, and those scenes that make you want to toss your kindle. This book wasn't as bad as the first story but definitely enough to keep you reading and sweating. "I hate him so much right now. I hate him, and yet I can't see anything but him." This series is not your ordinary fairy tale type of series and that is why I loved it!

Loved it, especially the ROTFL parts, I haven't laugh at a great book in so long. Holly has been in love with Jackson for a long time and now she is pregnant by her ex Cooper and Jackson doesn't know what to do. His feelings are all over the place what he sees her and her baby bump. When Jacks ex shows up when he is in the hospital Holly's feelings come rising to the surface and can tell or show Jacks them since his perfect ex is the making Holly feel un-perfect. Jack does the same when Coop comes back into Holly's life acting like Holly and him can be a happy family is when Jacks true feelings comes out but like men they rather head but each other then letting Holly decide. But Jack has been doing crazy crap and Holly doesn't feel like she can depend on him until is last stunt with the town wh@re in their living room floor when her heart said goodbye to Jack.
