Eona: The Last Dragoneye (2011) - Plot & Excerpts

Honestly I don't know what to say about this book. I liked the first one, but this however was a big disappointment. None of the characters have really bothered me until now. The main protagonist just pissed me off the entire time with her selfishness and her love for Kygo. She was rude to Ryko who amazingly is still on their side. She was pretty much a jerk to everyone except her stupid love interest, Kygo who just bored me to death. I liked him in the first one, but he just became so boring I was practically begging for her to choose her other dumb love interest Ido. I never really hated him until he became a pathetic idiot wanting to keep his power even if it just seems completely useless anyhow. In my opinion there were ways this book could've been done so much better. Eona just became so unlikable in this that I didn't really care if she died or something. I really wanted Kygo to die at the end as well, but we've got to spare her dumb love interest don't we? I originally read this because of my huge love for dragons and well it wasn't as dragon themed as I thought. I hope there are other and better dragon books out there somewhere. I read the first book, Eon: Dragoneye Reborn, a number of years ago and loved it, and I couldn't wait until this book came out.But I waited, waited, waited and after 4-5 years gave up hope that it would come out.And when I recently found it, I wasn't as excited as I had been all those years ago and considered just letting it go.But I was curious...maybe it would be as good as I remembered the 1st book to be.It definitely was.The author doesn't show her characters any mercy -- they are plunged into conflicts, almost their own worst enemies. They are stretched to their limits, and I often wondered how they would survive. The ending was very satisfying and made the story-journey definitely worthwhile.
