Escoja El Gozo: Cuando La Felicidad No Es Suficiente (2013) - Plot & Excerpts
Scripturally weak and man-centered. Joy should come from our relationship with Christ because of what he did on the cross to fix our relationship with God and others. We can forgive and hope because of him. She does not mention that the Holy Spirit is the one to grow the "fruit" of joy in us. This book did not at all help me be more joyful. I suppose it could be helpful for someone who doesn't already know that happiness isn't lasting and joy isn't about circumstances... I really enjoyed this book! Kay made it so clear how we can experience genuine joy in our lives regardless of our circumstances. Life is like a parallel set of train tracks, while sorrow and joy run side by side throughout our lives. However, when you step back and look from a distance, the two tracks appear as one. What a revelation to learn how to respond to life's trials with a joyful attitude, even while experiencing grief or frustration within a given situation. Trials reveal what is deep inside, our true colors, to the world. What a perfect opportunity to allow others to see Jesus in us! She also speaks on behaviors and attitudes of the heart and mind that either kill or promote joy in ourselves and well as others. She gives practical guidelines that increase joy in our daily lives. I love her transparency while sharing personal stories that inspire and give hope.

Kay shed light in areas I hadn't realised where I need to open to allow joy in. Great book.
