Espino, Stacey - Corralling The City Girl [Ride 'em Hard 2] (Siren Publishing Ménage Amour) - Plot & Excerpts
Brad ensured the extra horses were packed and ready, and he hoped she had the wits enough to follow the path they’d been taking the cattle on for two days. He’d watched her for a while before he got up to dress and wash up. When she slept, no irritation contorting her face, she looked like an angel. Now, more than ever, he wanted to ensure he got the cattle to the destination in time, unwilling to let her down. She’d fallen asleep like a baby the night before, but he’d lain awake for hours after jerking off. At least now he could expel his pent-up energy during the roundup. He rode his horse hard, focusing on moving the herd. Dust obscured his vision as he galloped from one end of the perimeter to the other, occasionally passing Dawson or Chase on horseback. His dog was an asset, appearing in his peripheral vision from time to time, doing his job tirelessly. By the time they took a lunch break, he could see the three horses nearing from the distance. He flipped open his saddlebag and took a long, much-needed drink of water.
