OMG THE ENDING THOUGH. I started this series thinking it was pretty good-not amazing, but good enough to spend a lazy summer afternoon reading. However, this last book blew everything out of the water. I loved how all the characters really found themselves and had a happy ending in their own different ways. Before the end of the book, I was really upset because there were some issues in the first two books that were not resolved, like the issue with Vari. But then, BOOM everything becomes clear again. In this book, Shusterman explores the darkness of human nature as well as its complex feelings of love and hatred. Plus, I have to say I really shipped Allie x Mikey and Jix x Jill. I really liked the ending to this series. It tied things up so nicely. But not in the way I expected. There was plenty of plot along the way. We even got to meet new characters such as Jix (who skinjacks bit cats) and new leaders to foil Mary. One has the power of "unremembering" which changes the "physical" laws of Everlost by choosing not remember key facts. We also get to meet a "scar wraith" who can sense both the living and Everlost worlds. And of course the coins play a nice role. We also got to meet Allie's body. Mary's punishment for Jill of skinjacking ito a pig was an interesting though and that had a nice ending as well. I was surprised at the decision Mary made when she realized she lost. And I really liked Nick's rules as the "new Mary." It was a great end to the series.
What do You think about Everfound (2011)?
Entertaining series but I'm glad I'm finished with it. :)
