I gave this book 2.5 stars because there were some really idiotic scenes that made absolutely no sense. Daisy is from a vampire hunting family and she falls in love with a Erik, a vampire. Her brother, Alex comes to town and kills a vampire and a human, and she's okay with this? I am not! Then when Alex almost gets himself killed by a vampire, Daisy takes him to Erik to heal him, which he does because he loves Daisy. Now this vampire, Rhys, who just happens to be Erik's good friend is after both Daisy and Alex so Erik takes them to Boston to keep them safe. Boston is where Daisy's family live and now Alex and her father go out vampire hunting and don't return so Daisy calls Erik to go find them. Erik saves them from a vampire in Boston. While in Boston, Brandon, Daisy's other brother comes home and tells his family he is getting married and giving up vampire hunting, but now the family wants to go on one more hunt with him, with Daisy leading the way. Big problem! Daisy is in love with Erik, a vampire who has been nothing but nice to her, and she is still gung ho to hunt vampires? Hypocrite! Now this family invades a vampire's lair and oh my, the vampires fight back and Brandon is killed, everyone is shocked! Really? Dumb, dumb, dumb! Now Daisy is all mad at Erik because a vampire killed her brother. Erik who has saved her other brother, twice, her father once, and of course he has saved her too. What a spoiled little brat! At this point I had to quit on the book and finish it at a later time! What were you thinking, Amanda Ashley? Did you think the readers would be okay with this? This could have been a really good read but it is hard to get past the stupidity of this heroine! I will listen to the other one in this series because I was able to get it from the library. I hope it doesn't have idiotic scenes in it. I really liked this book until the parts mentioned above which is why I will listen to the 2nd one. Wow this was a hard book to get through. I found myself cringing and rolling my eyes every other page. Erik and Daisy rankled me more than any other couple I've ever come across in any other books I've read. It was hard to find redeeming qualities between the two of them amidst all of their deceit, selfishness, hypocrisy, disloyalty, and complete lack of integrity. I wanted to throw my Kindle when Daisy brought her brother to Erik's after just trying to stake Erik's best friend, and again when he actually agreed to help her. If I had one, this book would definitely make my top ten LEAST favorite books list.
What do You think about Everlasting Kiss (2010)?
I did not really like the plot, nor was the writing very good, but I did like the characters.
