Dull, poorly researched, and reads a lot like something I would've written as a teenager. The first chapter comes across very strongly and hooked my interest, but the rest of the book just can't keep up with it. I suspect it might have been a situation where the bulk of the editing was poured into the first chapter in order to get people excited, then was a bit more lax in the rest of the book. Furthermore, the author uses a lot of descriptors in this book which are borderline (if not outright) racial slurs, which is unacceptable. (Not to mention, a quick Google search would have fixed the problem!) Will not be investigating any other books by this author. I didn't think I would like this book, half way through I thought about putting it down, but I am glad I made it to the end. I really liked the ending and I liked a few of the twists. I have to say the writing was only okay... lots of the same words being used over and over again... I felt like I was back reading 50 shades of Grey. Also when they went back in time the langue used was way to modern... that is fine if they had given a quick explanation like she is hearing ancient Egyptian, but her mind was translation it... cause I am pretty sure Celopatria didn't say OK. But in the end it was a good read and a fun cast.. I will pick up the next one.... just not right now.
