Exposed By Fate (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

Very much enjoyed this one. I have to admit that I struggled with the first in this series, Owned by Fate. I just never connected with Caroline and while I enjoyed Jonah, I just didn't enjoy the story overall. I've had Exposed by Fate since it came out and just kept putting it off since Owned was just okay. Finally took the plunge and so glad I did. I really should have read it sooner! This is the best friend of a sibling trope, which I do enjoy. Tessa Bailey packs a punch in this novella. It's such a nice, full story. I only wish it was longer so we got more of Oliver & Eliza, not that I felt anything was lacking. (4.75 stars) When Eliza Ballas’ best friend, Caroline, introduces her to the enticing BDSM club Serve, Eliza is intrigued and more than a little turned on at the idea of surrendering and submitting in the bedroom. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, depending on how you look at it), Eliza believes her wide-eyed innocence when it comes to the more kinky aspects of sexual play will turn away potential partners. She turns to the one man she know won’t turn down pleasure and enlists his help to teach her what she needs to thrive at Serve – Oliver Preston, Caroline’s sexy older brother with whom she has shared a mutual attraction for the last seven years. Oliver agrees to give Eliza three lessons – three lessons that will give Eliza the confidence she needs to approach potential partners and the sensual acumen to please herself and her partner. But as Eliza and Oliver finally give into the attraction that has been simmering for the last seven years, they both begin to realize that neither of them are going to walk away unscathed from this union.Oliver is a successful businessman who runs a magazine catering to those who enjoy a kinkier side to their sex. He’s a bit of a playboy and not one for relationships. He’s dominant in and out of the bedroom and enjoys rougher, wilder sex. Eliza is more vanilla – the candy and flowers type of girl, but with a hidden wild side that she is itching to explore. She’s no wilting flower though. Though intrigued by the idea of submission, she is confident and assertive when necessary. Together, Eliza and Oliver make a wonderful match.I think what I loved most about this novel was the struggle of Eliza and Oliver to come to terms with their feelings with each other. The push-pull of attraction was there from the start and yet the reason why they had never given into their mutual attraction was realistic and believable. And yet when their lessons begin, it’s as if the floodgates opened. Wow! Wonderfully written, sensually seductive, and steaming hot!I received this book for free from the Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Originally posted at Plot Twist Reviews [dot] Com
