Extreme Productivity: Boost Your Results, Reduce Your Hours (2012) - Plot & Excerpts
I would re-label this book Efficiency Hacks & Career Advice. Pozen does an excellent job giving you lots of little "take aways" to improve efficiency on commonly done tasks, increase your energy levels, have better work life balance and work your way up an organizational latter while remaining productive. I really like his real world approach. Where other authors describe productivity in a way that couldn't be implemented because of your corporate role, Pozen excels. He is weaker on the philosophy and the "why" behind why some of his suggestions are so effective. A practical "how to" manual for ingraining habits which will make you more productive. Not everything is equally important, not everything requires the same level of attention or diligence. Being selective is key. I read the book after listening to a presentation Bob gave and I found it just as engaging as he was in person. Concise and clearly written, perfect for skimming in parts. Nothing groundbreaking, but taken together I can see how it can transform the effectiveness of each hour of your day. I will return to selected sections again and again.
