Eyes Of Silver, Eyes Of Gold (2000) - Plot & Excerpts

I thought this book was really well written though there were a few things that I had a problem with. One, the characters of Frank and Ephaim didn't really seem that consistant to me. I never knew exactly what they wanted and what they were up to. Other people's reactions to them seemed to indicate that they were these badass men who weren't scared of anything, yet Anne ran them out of the house. It was also really annoying because no matter how much evidence was shown to them, they couldn't believe that their brother was a good person. And can I just point out that they were blaming him for leaving when they knew how badly he'd been treated for which they did nothing to stop. Another issue I had was that the author didn't explore Anne and Cord's relationship enough. That's not to say that it wasn't not believable or amazing, because they were so cute together. This book really made you root for the characters and hate the opposition. It made you commit emotionally to the book and be able to relate to the characters. I read it on a lonely island near Finnish city called Vaasa. It was beautiful day, I was relaxing on a terrace and enjoying this book. Oh it was gloom. Main characters were nice and positive but Oh-My-God! How depressing and how complicated communication was between relatives/friends etc. If there wouldn't be a happy ending I'd be really disappointed. But overall well written and enjoyable piece of literature.
