I found out about this book via a HaBO on SBTB. This is a fun story about a rake being reformed. It uses the trope of a fake engagement (to save the Lady of course) and of course the leads fall in love. You have the added fun of the heroine being a scientist and having a circle of scientist friends (two younger and two elderly) who add some pith to the story. This was a delightful tale that made buy the remaining two in the trilogy. This is the first Cara Elliott novel I read, and I rank the author up there with Stephanie Laurens, Suzanne Enoch and Julia Quinn in terms of character and plot development. The first of perhaps three (given that we met two other heroines who likely will appear in their own stories), in this story, the heroine is accused of killing of her husband, who was, of course, a lout. As she is, of course, innocent, she has to team up with a charming but aimless gentleman to prove her innocence and protect her son. Of course, the gentleman eventually comes up to snuff and proves his worth.
What do You think about Falešné Zásnuby (2011)?
Trite conversation and unlikable characters. This book is going in my could-not-finish pile.

Oh FFS, why do I even bother. I am done with all romance novels about ~tortured rakes~.
