Wonderful holiday short story (free!) with Stephen, Crane, Merrick and Saint. Crane relates a fantastic anecdote from his and Merrick's time in China. Saint has a costume change and Stephen receives a romantic, meaningful gift. There is also a hot, paranormal scene.Great seasonal gift from KJ Charles to all A Charm of Magpies fans!This is not a stand-alone story - you need to read the series. It is an amazing series, so if you haven't read it yet, give yourself a gift by starting now. :-) There is a warning by the author at the beginning that the reader should skip this story if Flight of Magpies hasn't been read. Please heed this warning. I actually think that this would best be read by those who have read all three of the books, because there are definite spoilers and bits that will not make sense otherwise.I love Stephen and Lucien, so it was pretty much a given that I would love this holiday-timed short. Any peeks into their relationship (and Merrick's as well) are highly welcome and much appreciated by this fan. Once again we are treated to the amazing interaction between these two individuals and learn some back story as well. I highly enjoyed this quick read despite a few typos that momentarily jarred me out of the wonderful world that KJ Charles creates with her words. This is highly recommended to all fans of the series.
