A very average body weight program. A decent read for beginners starting at zero. If you're serious about developing bodyweight strength to American Ninja like levels look elsewhere - like Overcoming Gravity or Building the Gymnastic Body. Don't forget that developing maximum strength with barbell training makes bodyweight strength much easier to obtain. If you're not supplementing your bw training with barbell training you're making the journey harder and longer for yourself. Good barbell programs are Starting Strength, Tactical Barbell, and Power to the People to name a few. Hahaha. I can't believe people still buy into the secret squirrel ancient techniques rubbish. It's a very middle of the road calisthenics / bodyweight progression at its core, and I'm being generous. I read a friend's copy, so thankfully I didn't spend money on it, but I almost did buy it due to the sheer popularity. I've yet to meet or see someone who's used Convict Conditioning alone and become strong or muscular. Skip this, there are plenty of other far, far better bodyweight books out there. If you're just interested in getting ultra strong regardless of the tool, you're better off going with Pavel's Power to the People (from the same publisher btw)or the superb Tactical Barbell. Even though Power to the People is from the same publisher as Convict (Dragondoor), it's night and day in quality and will actually give you results. PTTP is a game changer for the serious strength trainee. Oddly enough, many of the principles in Convict Conditioning are almost the opposite of what's taught in Power to the People....hmmmm.
