Are these the best books ever written? No, not even close. Plausible story line? Negative. A trashy, fun read? Yes and that is why I've rated it so highly. I've read this series twice now and I did enjoy it both times because I approached it for what it was intended to be---a fun, mindless read. Christian and Ana have a ton of baggage and faults, but they're fictional characters. You cannot take this far too seriously or the whole premise of the book and the writing will just piss you off. I just finished the last book and it is so bittersweet--bitter that there is nothing left to read but sweet because I thoroughly enjoyed getting lost in the lives of Christian and Ana. I think people need to get past the notion that it's just an erotic porn novel because there is actually a great story behind it all. I agree that it is not a highly well-written novel in comparison to authors such as Jane Austen but I did not find it dull by any means. The book was easy and interesting to read and kept me on my feet, wanting more. Yes, there is a lot of sex in these novels so if it really bothers you that much then perhaps you aren't mature enough to read it anyways, which is a shame. Overall, I commend E.L. James for her work on these novels.
What do You think about Fifty Shades Trilogy Bundle (2012)?
I think a little too much hype preceded these books but I bought into it! An okay read.
