Finding Dandelion (2014) - Plot & Excerpts

After reading Dearest Clementine (Book One), I was not only enthusiastic, but ultimately thrilled to start reading Finding Dandelion (Book Two). Dani and Jax are the main characters in this sequel, which the reader should be familiar with from book one. Jax is Clementine's brother and his reputation with the ladies is very poor. Let's just say that he is categorized as a "wam bam thank you ma'am" type of guy, but Dani doesn't know this when she decides to check off her "one night stand" on her to-do list. The emotions run on high which is intriguingly seductive; however, the darkness that lingers with both characters compelled me to keep reading.I would have to say that Jax's gentle nature towards the women in his life that he truly cherishes is what renders me speechless. He is not only aggressive when he needs to be but the author really catches that attractive and compassionate side that all women want to see from their men. Another aspect that engages my interest are the comical personalities that the minor characters have like Trevor, Dani's best friend. A couple of the quotes that the author uses to describe feeling or emotions will make the reader laugh which is imperative in a good book. It is difficult to get through a book without a little amusement in between it's pages so I liked that the author could find it in this story.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book tremendously . I laughed, I cried, I gawked, and I may have squealed a little bit during the read but that is what makes these the best. The stories that you can relate to are the most entertaining and fascinating to read. I recommend this to all of the women in following my club page. Since this is classified as New Adult Contemporary Romance, it has some steamy scenes which might not be so appealing to men but who knows, they may enjoy it too! I give Lex Martin an outstanding five stars for her creativeness and ability to exceed my expectations again and I look forward to the wonderful Daren and Madelaine romance next! FIVE FANTASTIC STARSA complimentary copy given by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you, Lex Martin, for the opportunity.I absolutely loved this story. I jumped all over the opportunity to review it because I had recently read and enjoyed Dearest Clementine. Although the two books are a part of a series, there is no need to read the other one as both can be read fine as standalones. However, I recommend that you read Dearest Clementine because these characters, Jax and Dani as well as some of the other supporting characters, are in that book as well AND because of Gavin Murphy. Everyone needs to know who he is. Anyways...Finding Dandelion, centers around the budding romance between Clementine's (the MC from Dearest Clementine) roommate Dani and her twin brother Jax. Jax and Dani share a night he can't remember, and after hearing Clem rant about all her brother's one-night stands, Dani embraces the fact that he doesn't remember--although the fact that he doesn't remember stings a little. The attraction between them builds and comes to a head when Jax hits her with his BMW and she goes to stay with him afterwards. (Yes, he hits her with his CAR!!!) Feeling guilty about hurting her and inexplicably protective, Jax offers to take her home with him to help her recover. During the time they spend together, they bond and form a friendship that quickly leads to more...This book read a lot like Clementine, but dealt with a lot heavier issues. There is a death in this story, and it broke my heart. But even though it was sad at times, it was still very upbeat.I LOVED Dani. She is a strong character and her strength is consistent throughout the book and through everything she'd gone through. It was fun to live inside her head for a day or two.And Jax. Jax, Jax, JAX! I was like, there's no way anyone could top Gavin Murphy...I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I may have liked Jax more. It's hard to compare them when they're so different, but I loved Jax's possessiveness when it came to Dani.Overall, this is definitely a five star read--one that I HIGHLY recommend.
