This book had just the right amount of love, humor, and heartache. You'll fall instantly for Tox, a gruff firefighter, and you'll feel an instant connection with Grace, a control-freak acupuncturist. Lila's writing is brilliant. I'm usually pretty good at reading a few chapters and then putting a book down so I can go about my everyday business. With this? Nope. The dishes went unwashed and the clothes went unfolded. I wanted to be immersed in this little world of Darling Bay forever. Love, love, love it! This was a fun story with a hunky fireman (who would not like that) and a quirky health conscious acupuncturist, both of who are meant for each other, but have to battle their own and each others hang-ups before they get on with the serious fun stuff. Throw in an ugly adopted dog, friends with a sense of humour (including a priest), an idyllic location ... it was a fun read with a bit of substance thrown in.
