I loved this book. I think it may be my favorite book of this series, so far. Well, I started out this series not knowing if I liked Toreth or not. After all, he's quite the bastard, isn't he? After a while, I came to realize that Toreth was one of those characters who was really psychologically damaged. And I think as the series has gone on, Toreth is slowly becoming whole again, although I don't think he will ever be free of some of those internalized feelings that his messed up parents saddled him with. I have always felt sort of "meh" about Keir, probably because he's so normal in many ways. But I really loved him in this book. He really loves Toreth and is willing to go to some lengths to save him, both physically and psychologically. I loved seeing Toreth's many vulnerabilities-who knew? Well, I guess as the series has progressed the reader has seen that Toreth is in fact, a damaged character who needs to be fixed. There is still plenty to dislike about Toreth, but it is plain to see that he is redeemable and Keir is the one to do it. This is a wonderful series of books and I highly recommend them! Late to this series - but better late than never. I've thoroughly enjoyed all the books. The writing is fantastic. This one though was lacking something and it didn't have the same spark. First Toreth and Warrick - no excitement there; almost non-existent and disappointing. I was over Carnac and Sara in this book. Sara's POV was too much and it wasn't interesting and she's obsessed with Toreth. Enough. How many people can be obsessed with Toreth? The sleeping around is getting old and it was annoying that Warrick continues to look the other way. I understand the complexities of Toreth's character and I'm not looking for him to be milk toast and change completely, but at some point admitting that when you're with someone for 5 years - he's your lover and your in a relationship needs to happen I would hope. Not sure what to expect in next book. Overall I do love the series!!
