This was the best book in the series. I wondered what happened to Selia after the first book, and I found my answer in Forest Born. Forest Born also tells you more about the different powers like how people speaking is the most corrupt, and as you read further, you can see how the girls grow more closer together. The girls all have their own personality, which is something I enjoy because the main characters in most series all act similar and its almost like they're the same person. I really wanted to give this more stars since I do love this series from Shannon Hale. I couldn't only because I find Shannon Hale's stories a bit tedious sometimes. I love the characters and the actual plot but I wish she had a stricter editor. I feel like there is too much internal dialogue and I even felt that so many parts were repeated. This story could have been told in probably half as many pages. Shannon Hale's stories also climax too often. I thought the book was over at least 5 times and was surprised to hear another chapter beginning. I can tell Shannon Hale is more excited to tell a story then to complete a story, which is a great talent but I am more excited to hear the story line so I don't like a lot of unnecessary dialogue.
