So I decided to read this as part of the M/M Group Scavenger Hunt Challenge, it's probably not something that I would pick up otherwise. I thought the beginning was a little slow going and the general plot didn't really pique my interest. My first impressions of both MCs was that they were a little immature, so I can't say that I really connected with them emotionally. This book wasn't for me, but if you're into the contemporary rocker/musician + rekindled flame thing you'll probably enjoy it a little more than I did. Best part of the book-- Delia Gomez, the kick-ass chick heavy metal drummer for Armagedon Showdown. She deserves her own story. And a Latina to boot! Woo Hoo!Chance and Alex were a great couple, and there's plenty of fireworks between the very out documentary film maker Alex and the very-closeted rock star Chance. The two had been lovers in high school, when they were discovered by Alex's homophobic father. Nine years later, Alex hears a song he wrote to the wildly popular and still-closeted Chance. Anger turns into a chance (no pun intended) to get even.Of course a story like this is pretty by-the-numbers, including hot sex, a jealous ex with incriminating evidence, and a near-tragic life-changing event that finally brings the two men back together. Pure, unadulterated brain candy and sometimes that's all The Fountain Pen Diva really wants. Off to read Gio's story next.
What do You think about Forever Is Now (2013)?
A little predictable, but rock stars are my weakness!
