Such a beautiful cover. Too bad the story isn't as beautiful. I'm not even halfway done and already I can tell where the story is going.Sorry, but withholding information about a male best friend from a boyfriend is not enough to hold this story together. Getting jealous about past relationships that had nothing to do with you in the first place isn't enough to hold this story together. Getting jealous over every little thing and detail about someone's life whom you've barely known is childish, especially when the teens in this story are old enough to know better. All we have here is a good-looking girl and a good-looking guy who are too insecure. Maybe that's enough for young high schoolers but, for me, it's pretty stupid. For someone who cares about Sydney the way that Sarah is claiming, there shouldn't have even been a secret to hide. Sydney's always been there for her when she needed him, and still is, so what's the problem? If he's that important to her as she says he is then Angel should be the one who has to accept that, not the one who's providing the ultimatum. Then she's the one who keeps saying she's leaving, so why is she letting Angel have so much power over her life? This is THE MAJOR PROBLEM I have with stories like this. Looks, although important, should not be the only basis to the actual story.Secondly, where's the so-called spark? I don't feel it between these two because of all the problems that shouldn't be problems getting in the way. That would be fine if they were sophomores. They're seniors! I've never known any seniors who've acted like this. You'd think that Angel would be ready and willing to abuse Sarah if he didn't get his way. It's petulant and childish, another thing that doesn't even bring enough support to the actual story....whatever the story is.Now I have to finish this just to see if Forever Mine can be salvaged. If these imaginary issues are the plot, then this is a big FAIL already. I'd take Beautiful Disaster over this any day.Oh, and both boys have WOMEN names. Angel. Sydney. Even playing that route is ridiculous.Thirdly, too may of them are in each other's relationships. Valerie giving Sarah advice about keeping a guy when she's fooling around with who knows who? Yeah. Okay. Then when she gets a Moreno, she's hooking up with Romero? I get that she's trying to protect her feelings, but who is she to say who Angel is when she didn't even know the Moreno brothers knew her all that well? Doesn't hold up.Then, what's with the wording? When you're telling us something that happened, there's no need to put it in dialogue when you've already said it happened. For example:'She wasn't sure it was a good idea. She didn't know if she could keep it secret any longer.'"I'm not sure this is a good idea. I don't know how long I can hold this secret."Um, no. You've already told us this. Unless you're planning to change something about what you've already told us, there's no need to repeat it!This story, as a whole so far, is full of contradictions, inconsistencies, and the holes are just forming. And let's not even talk about the terrible grammar and lack of punctuation when needed.LATER...I'm a bit past the half point in the story and I'm still not satisfied. When Sarah was informed of Sydney's accident, why would she STILL keep lying about his identity? What if they said Sydney was dead? Would the alias still be important to her? I'm sorry, but I might have to discontinue this story and give it a big fat F.I may need time to finish this one, even though I know where it is going. Hell, it took me 3 days to even get this far. Now I'm just suffering through the rest. I need a break. Or I may not finish this one at all. LATER...I'm done with it. Seriously. I can't say I enjoyed it, either. This story just couldn't hold my attention the way I wanted it to and I knew exactly how it would go down.I won't be reading anything by this author anymore; of that I'm positively sure.It gets an F. Final answer, Regis.
2.5 stars... This book had some serious potential. There was just some spark or something missing. I can't really put my finger on it. I just didn't connect with Sarah and Angel.Sarah and Angel had an instant connection, they were drawn to each other from the moment they met and that part of the story was beautiful to read. I found myself wanting more detail, why they felt that way about their budding relationship. Parts were choppy and time moved strangely, one moment it was daily then they jumped ahead a few weeks.Sarah: is a smart girl but I found myself shaking my head at her blindly following Angel and allowing herself to give pieces of her life away to him. Sydney... That really pissed me off and I wanted her to stand up to Angel. In the end relationships are about compromise, I just felt that Sarah mad more than her fair share.Angel: handson, outgoing, confident and in the end controlling. Not sure where he got the idea that his word carried so much weight but at times I really wanted to yell at him for finding such fault in Sarah's friendship with Sydney. It's not that Angel was overly controlling, it's just the idea that his influence made Sarah not want to share her friend with him, just rubbed me the wrong way.The cast of characters were funny and read like real life characters. I see so much potential with this series and enjoyed Reyes first book in her other series. Not sure if what I'm feeling is a new writer finding her footing or what but I plan on reading the next book in the Moreno Brothers Series.
What do You think about Forever Mine (2012)?
Ms. Reyes' writing ability is decent, aside from an aversion to commas, but this story is horrible. Seriously, nothing in this book is okay. Suppppppooooosssedly, this book is about a girl who has to move away (they always have to move away, why is that?) to live with her aunt and uncle and meets a super awesome dude. In reality, it is a book about a girl who has to move away to live with her aunt and meets a controlling jerk who she spends most of her time worrying about how he'll be mad about just about everything. (view spoiler)[This chick is so dumb in so many ways I can't stand it. Her best friend is a guy and she refuses to tell Angel because he'll be mad. Probably because he makes some comment about how some dude brought his sister a present and his brother ripped its head off in front of her because girls can't ever be just friends with guys. He pretty much laughs about how dumb girls are to think any dude just wants to be friends. Probably because he treats women like sex toys and objects so he thinks everyone else does, too. But does that sound okay in any way? Some guy telling you his brother did that and thinking it's not only okay, but funny? Is that sexy? Is that alright? Nope. If that's how these guys think it's cool to treat their sister, how do you think he's going to treat you? Her cousin, Valerie, keeps telling her to tell him and not be a big liar. She doesn't. But meanwhile, she sits around judging Valerie for being honest about hooking up with guys here and there because she isn't interested in a relationship. Sarah lies to bf, letting him refer to her friend as 'she' and 'her' without saying anything, but Valerie does not lie, and she's somehow the bad one. Whatever, bitch. This girl is so up in Valerie's shit that she pushes her into dating Angel's dickbag brother, who makes Angel look like a nice guy. He's the head-ripper-offer, in case you're wondering. It ends poorly and Valerie is upset but most of the times they fight, Sarah sits there smirking and giggling about how funny the things he says to Valerie are and worrying about how mad Valerie might make him. They aren't funny comments; they're rude. She's just a fuckin' moron. She gets all worked up because Angel's sister wants to date. She mustn't! Because "the cavemen" will be angry. She thinks of her boyfriend as a caveman, but it's okay. Cuz he's sexy, I guess. Whatever. I just don't even know. I wanted to throttle her. His sister thinks Sarah's her friend but the whole time Sarah is standing around thinking his sister (Sophie) is stupid for dating because of her brothers. The way Angel and his brother treat that poor girl is disgusting and Sarah thinks this is normal. (hide spoiler)]

What can i say about this book that i loved so much...It drew me in straight away.. I loved that it was put in both Sharh and Angels point of view so you knew what their emotions were and what they were thinking.. I loved that yes it was a love story that it was not a typical girl gets hot guy and thats it there was complications that you dont normally see in love storys, like the complication with Sydney ohh and i loved the story that unfolded with Coach Rudy.I loved it that for a while it went in a totally diffrent direction with Coach Rudy (Perv) .Also i loved that it also sets it up for Alex and Valarie and also Eric and Sofie...It had me hanging for more until the end. I loved this story i would recommend this to anyone. Elizabeth captured my imagination and my heart with this story.....
