Fun, fun, fun! Nice to find a new mystery author and read her debut book. But especially great that it's about quilters since I'm one too and could identify all the quilting patterns and understood the lingo. Martha Rose is a compelling protagonist, a 55 year old, size 16, Jewish, Democrat divorcee with a great sense of humor. Her best friend, Lucy, is Republican, Catholic, married to an Italian man for over 50 years, and also a quilter. Along with another quilter friend Birdie, the trio are wonderful characters. They discover a dead body, a young woman they would like to include in their Quilty Tuesdays group. Martha figures out the murderer and other ancillary mysteries and in the process meets the lead homicide detective who promises to be a continuing character in this series. I've pre-ordered the second one even though I'm paying the full kindle price! Definitely looking forward to #2. This was a delightful tale woven around the lives of three 'older' women and their hobby of quilting. The story was fast-paced and drew me in immediately. I finished the book in one day! There were several suspects to choose from and the main character was fairly spirited in her attempt to solve the murder of someone in her circle of quilters. I liked the fact that the story, while giving information about various quilting techniques, was not so overdone with quilting facts that the reader became overwhelmed, bored, or driven to skim over. The author was very creative in masking the story left behind by the murder victim. The characters were very likeable. I also liked that the spark of interest between a couple of characters was slow to build. It was a good, clean mystery and I would definitely recommend Forget Me Knot.
